newsPlay started as a project in the Cronkite School at Arizona State University. The initial goal was to cover the use of games for journalistic purposes. I’ve expanded my focus since. I spend a lot of time thinking about journalism and a lot of time thinking about games. I think the worlds can learn from each other and my posts follow that story arc. I’m way open to constructive (and deconstructive) criticism from anyone who takes the time to read my blog.

As for the author, my name is Josh Sprague. I recently finished a grad degree in journalism/new media and work on a couple sites dedicated to citizen media and media criticism. I think both are very important, almost as important as games.
